In 1963, Hikmat Zakko, established our business with the purpose of becoming a partner for many multinational healthcare companies in Iraq. Zakko aimed to expand the size and trading opportunities of the drugstore in order to grow and broaden the supply of medicine locally. However; in 1979 the government took control over all medical imports in Iraq which consequently led to the shutdown of the business and move to retail pharmaceutical business.
